Flogas Britain launches specialist LNG team

15/10/2015

Flogas Britain, one of the UK’s leading liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) providers, has created a specialist LNG team, dedicated to offering LNG LNGsolutions to UK businesses.

Part of DCC Energy, the leading oil and LPG sales and distribution business in Europe, Flogas is one of the first in the market to supply LNG for industrial applications – providing low cost, efficient energy solutions to UK industry. The launch sees Flogas bring its vast experience in supplying creative energy solutions to the growing UK LNG market.

The team’s core focus is helping high-volume oil-burning businesses convert to LNG, which would enable them to reduce their energy costs by up to 40%, and their carbon output by up to 50%. Flogas specialises in providing start-to-finish energy solutions for commercial customers, and the new LNG team is already working with high energy users in various locations across all industry sectors.

LNG is produced by liquefying natural gas to significantly reduce its volume, making it easily transported to large, off-grid businesses.

The new Flogas LNG offering provides bespoke, turnkey LNG solutions for both industrial and transport applications – with full project management to ensure a seamless transition from oil and optimum long-term performance.

This includes system specification, design, installation and reliable fuel supply, delivered by the UK’s largest LNG tanker fleet. Flogas has also worked closely with government agencies to develop stringent safety measures that set the very highest industry standards.

Rob McCord, Head of LNG at Flogas, is responsible for delivery of the LNG growth plan and strategy. He says: “Flogas has been helping industrial customers cut costs and emissions for more than 30 years, so we’re delighted to be strengthening our portfolio with the introduction of LNG.

“We pride ourselves on being experts in energy, and with a wealth of experience in the sector, the new team is now providing tailored LNG solutions to help businesses reap the rewards of a more secure, efficient and economical fuel supply.

He concluded: “We’re already seeing great demand, including signing a contract to supply 153 GW (gigawatts) of energy annually to a major processing client. With the worldwide supply rate increasing, and such compelling financial and logistical benefits for end users, it’s clear that LNG has a very bright future in the UK – and the new Flogas team is looking forward to being at the heart of it.”
